About SHP

At Southern Hot Peppers, the garden is a place of variety and intensity. Our chocolate lab, the guard-en dog, keeps watch over the plants while pollinators do their work.

We grow more than 80 varieties of peppers, from mild and flavorful to the kind of super hots that test the limits of heat. While peppers are our specialty, most years we also grow their nightshade relatives: rich, homegrown tomatoes. The garden is surrounded by sunflowers, zinnias, and wildflowers, creating a landscape that balances beauty with intensity.

We’re located in the fruit belt of Southwest Michigan, close to Lake Michigan, where the unique micro-climate provides warm days, cool nights, and fertile soil. These conditions make it possible to grow some of the freshest and most powerful peppers you’ll find.
